The house is absolutely lovely, very well maintained, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. It was a real pleasure to spend our holiday there, and we felt very comfortable and welcome. It is clear that you take great care of the house and put a lot of heart into it, and this really shows. We appreciated this very much and did our best to leave the house as clean and tidy as possible. Experiência negativa: I would strongly caution anyone considering booking through Algarve Retreats. Mistakes can happen, but leaving guests stranded at night with no where to stay in a foreign country, failing to communicate, providing untrue and inconsistent explanations, showing zero accountability, and then retaliating with a poor review is unacceptable. We had a confirmed reservation, which Algarve Retreats reconfirmed the day before our arrival and even provided check-in instructions for. However, when we arrived that evening and followed the instructions to call the provided numbers for check-in assistance, no one answered. We repeatedly attempted to reach them and received no response whatsoever. Stranded late at night in a foreign country with nowhere to stay, we were forced to book the only available hotel we could find, approximately 20 minutes away, at more than double the cost of our original accommodation. The following day, Algarve Retreats claimed there had been a problem with their system and that our reservation had not appeared. This explanation was difficult to accept given that they had explicitly reconfirmed our reservation the day before and had already sent us check-in instructions. When we were finally able to check in, we were not given the unit we originally booked and were met with an unexpectedly hostile attitude rather than an apology for the significant inconvenience and expense their failure had caused. My parents, who are in their 60s, remained polite and understanding throughout the entire ordeal. To make matters worse, despite our choosing not to leave a negative VRBO review about what was genuinely one of the worst travel experiences we’ve had, Algarve Retreats later left my mother a highly negative review on VRBO. That felt unnecessarily vindictive given the circumstances. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Algarve Retreats and would advise travelers to book elsewhere

Experiência fantástica: Amazing time at Memorias da marina Lagos. From the minute we arrived at the airport our taxi transfer was waiting. Arrived at the apartment and was warmly welcomed by Ian who gave us all the information we needed to get us going. The apartment itself is so beautiful and tastefully decorated. 4 of us stopped here (2 couples) we did not feel we were under each other’s feet as there was so much space. We will definitely be using Algarve retreats again in the future and be recommending to others. Thank you for an amazing holiday

Experiência positiva: We stayed at the Marina Apartments in Lagos. Great location and having a large supermarket nearby was an asset. Apartment was spacious and balcony overlooked the pool. The pool and surrounding area were great and the trees provided much needed shade on some very warm days. The only negative was a nearby local resident who kept chickens out his back garden. The cocks were up at day break exercising their vocal cords, but thankfully we managed to fall back to sleep.

Un oasi di pace assoluta,una villetta immersa in un giardino super curato con una piscina attrezzata di lettini e ombrelloni anch’essa pulita 2/3 volte alla settimana. Appartamento molto grande con ogni confort,foto assolutamente veritiere. 10 /20 minuti dalle spiagge più belle e molto vicina a Lagos. Consiglio di prenotare con loro l’auto perchè è decisamente conveniente.

Experiência fantástica: Great stay at Casa Maderia in Lagos this October. Superb Villa for our party of 8 with great facilities and a great location. Close to old town and local golf courses. Adrian and Georgia were very helpful from start to finish and every ask (extra beds, welcome packs, change of time to taxi transfer etc) easily and speedily accommodated. Would thoroughly recommend and will use Algarve Retreats again.

Experiência negativa: Incredibly rude management. I’ve stayed at a lot of airbnbs, and I’m not ever one to leave negative reviews, but this experience was bad. It started when I first reached out to Paula (senior property manager) for assistance while my guest and I both were having extensive troubles getting into the apartment; I was polite and patient the whole time, but she did not give me the same in return. She was very condescending and unprofessional in the way she spoke to me. As I struggled while over the phone with her, she got frustrated, raising her voice, nearly yelling the same unhelpful comment at me repetitively, in a condescending manner. She acted as if our difficulties were a frustrating burden to her, saying in an accusatory and rude tone: “You know this is going to cost you 50 euros?!” when she showed up in person, blaming me after she did not explain well over the phone. This had occurred 1 - 1.5 hrs after their office had closed— I understand that no one wants to take an after hours request, but I would not have called if we had not already been standing there for over 30 min trying everything we possibly could. If you’re going to turn rude by the occasional situation of guests needing your help, maybe you shouldn’t be a property manager or have your number listed for help calls. That’s just part of the job. I can’t imagine a hotel staff member ever speaking to a guest in that way, or blaming a guest of being at fault for the hotel’s own property being difficult to access, or for their own lack of instructions given. Everything about this felt unmerited. I politely reached out to the direct manager to let him know of this experience; to which I got no apology or acknowledgment of Paula— Only a brief, generic “Thank you for the feedback” message in regard to the apartment access problems. After my stay, they left me a petty airbnb review. I reviewed them back, (much briefer than this one), which they did not like. They then proceeded to leave me an angry reply. Instead of acknowledging my poor experience from management (the main thing I talked about), they proceeded to come at me rude again, but this time worse— heavily implying/indirectly saying that I’m stupid. (Let’s say there’s a scenario in which a guest actually is not very intelligent and has difficulties, that is still absolutely NO means of justification for management to be rude to them.) They also made random false comments about the experience that legitimately did not happen. One of the things said was that during initial arrival (not the after hours call that happened later) a staff member had been waiting for me “late at night”. Their check-in is at 4pm. We got off the train at 2 and had *early* check-in with said staff member around 3. It was literally early afternoon and the sun was shining. Also, what relevancy to the discussion would this even have? I guess they’re just trying to pull out anything they can in an attempt to make me look bad as their only defense. But the most out-of-pocket comment from them was and I quote: “your ability to look after yourself astounds me”…. Yikes?! They are blatantly and publicly mean to guests and they don’t care. The unprofessionalism is what astounds me.

Experiência negativa: Beautiful views, but management is highly unprofessional and rude. If you need help with anything after their office hours they will show up extremely agitated and annoyed with you. Instead of being courteous and understanding of guests problems they treat you like you’re a pest. They will then lie about these situations and then personally attack you in their guest reviews. These people don’t deserve to be in charge of these beautiful properties and you’re better off looking elsewhere

Experiência fantástica: We are about to return from a Fabulous holiday in Lagos. We stayed in a beautiful apartment at Marina Park, just my husband and I. The apartment was amazing, very spacious, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It had everything we needed. The apartment had a huge balcony with table and chairs and a couple of sun loungers, we spent all our time either at the pool area or on the balcony with a lovely view. The apartment was spotless when arrived and as we stayed for 2 weeks we had a linen and towel change after our first week. I paid €10 for beach towel hire, this was ideal as saved room in our suitcase also €30 for a small welcome pack, tea, coffee, milk , bread, butter, jam and water, this was a huge help as we arrived at 11.30pm so it was handy for a cuppa when we arrived and breakfast the following morning. Didn't take us long to find our feet. Supermarket was just done the road. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Our transfer was arranged for us and it was spot on, no hanging around. We needed a chilled out relaxing holiday and this is just what we had. Algarve Retreats made this possible for us. We had all the information we needed from the booking a few months ago, leading up to our stay and even whilst we here when I had the odd question. We met Georgia at the Retreats office, she was lovely and helped us a lot. I've never used this company before but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend them. Experiência fantástica: We have recently stayed at ‘Casa do Governador’, this is our second time booking with Algarve retreats and as expected we were not disappointed! ‘Casa do Governador’ was perfect for our family holiday which included a baby and young children. The location was spot on with only a 2-5 minute walk to beautiful beaches, bars and architecture! The villa included everything and more, fantastic rooftop terraces, a beautiful garden and a large pool! We enjoyed spending days and evenings using the outdoor barbecue and indoor and outdoor dining areas. The decor and lighting both inside and outside are both practical and stylish. Adrian and the staff from Algarve Retreats were excellent and we look forward to returning to ‘Casa do Governador’ in the not to distant future.

Experiência fantástica: MATCHING PEOPLE TO PROPERTIES Well, what can we say other than we are completely overwhelmed by the incredible, highly professional and expert service that we have received from ALGARVE RETREATS. In June 2024 we made a decision to look ‘seriously’ for a property in Lagos, Portugal. We live in the UK and so the thought of buying a property abroad was somewhat daunting and scary. We contacted Adrian Fox who recommended that we speak with Georgia Barfield to let her know our requirements. Whilst in the UK, we sent Georgia a list of several properties which we were interested in viewing. We then flew to Portugal with just one week to view all of our chosen properties. On day one, Georgia collected us in her car and accompanied us as we viewed three properties. All in different locations in Lagos. As we crossed the threshold of the third property we both knew instantly that this one was “THE ONE”. When you know, you know! I actually got goosebumps. This apartment felt so right that we cancelled all our other viewings. From then on, Georgia guided us through the whole process, negotiating with the seller on day two and successfully sealing the deal for us on day three. On day four, Georgia arranged for us to meet with a Lawyer and the rest is history. Georgia has been in daily contact with us as we had to fly back home. She kept us updated every step of our journey. When the deed had been signed Georgia called us to let us know. We flew to Lagos as soon as we could. On collecting our keys we were met by Paula who kindly informed us that our apartment was being cleaned for us. This had been arranged by Algarve Retreats. What an excellent service. When we walked inside the whole place looked immaculate. Our property buying experience with ALGARVE RETREATS has been nothing short of seamless. We would say it’s above and beyond our (very high) expectations. Throughout the process Georgia advised and guided us in her cool, calm way which made us feel so reassured. If you are contemplating buying property in Lagos, The Algarve then you need Georgia Barfield by your side. This lady has a sixth sense called ‘real estate”. We had never booked with this agency before so we were a little bit worried if everything would turn out ok, but at the end we we overwhelmed with our apartment and our stay in Vila Mos (Quinta das Laranjeiras). Aparment was very clean, had a greatest view, was very quite and very well equiped. Checkin and checkout was very easy. We will definitely come back and book again with Algarve Retreats! Experiência fantástica: As a group of friends celebrating our 60th birthdays we booked and stayed at villa caldeira in meia praia Lagos. The villa is in a prime location 10mins walk to Lagos Marina and 10 mins walk to the beautiful Beaches. The accomodation was outstanding very spacious and set in a beautiful well kept garden with private pool and great BBQ area with plenty of tables and seating outside in all areas. The kitchen and living areas are well equiped it's like home from home. Would definitely book again five stars without a doubt.

Experiência fantástica: We had a lovely stay in Algarve Retreats. The villa was perfect for our first family holiday with 7 month old twins! The villa was spacious, clean, and had plenty of utilities that helped us have a great time. Adrian and Tracey were fantastic from the moment we booked. They helped with sorting transfers and made sure everything was in place to make our stay as relaxing as possible. We had an issue with one of the cots not having a mattress on the first night but this was sorted straight away once we contacted Jorge. The BBQ and pool in the villa were definitely two of the biggest highlights for us. We also loved how close it was to the beach and the town. We had some amazing walks along the boardwalk. We would highly recommend staying here.

Experiência fantástica: Previously booked with Algarve Retreats and are family of five were very well looked after from the moment we arrived. We have now booked once again with direct contact from Adrian and Tracey within 24hrs of sending our request. We were able to speak with Adrian who confirmed our booking requirements and Tracey sent over all the necessary paperwork for our new booking. We had to move quickly to ensure we got the flights whilst availble and the booking was completed within minutes. The automated payment system makes the whole process very easy and gives you confidence with immediate receipts emailed for deposits paid. Excellent service as always and can't wait for our holiday next year. I'm sure Tracey and Adrian will make sure our holiday runs as smoothly as it did last time. Found booking with Algarve Retreats a far better experience than with other local agents in the Algarve (Lagos area) ;-) Book with confidence! You will be looked after.

Experiência fantástica: Stayed at villa Casa Azul in September and can honestly say it is one of our best holidays in the Lagos area. We normally rent separate apartments with Algarve Retreats between the six of us but this year went all out for a villa with a pool. The villa is beautiful and spacious, well located and has the best pool and views. If you decide to eat in the kitchen is so well equipped, you do not want for anything. Algarve Retreats were as always professional and helpful - booked already for next year !

The apartment was beautiful and exactly as described and as per photographs advertised. It was impeccably maintained and managed. Dealing with Tracey and her team was also a very positive experience, they were friendly, professional, very helpful and extremely responsive. They also arranged our airport transfers which were fantastic. All together it made our holiday and I would not hesitate to book with Algarve retreats again.

Experiência fantástica: I would not hesitate to book with this company again. From the very first communication to the day we left the villa all responses were almost instant. Everything was as portrayed on the website, which over the years I have found is not always the case, and the service when we were there was exceptional. It is very reassuring to know that there is someone at the end of a phone or email to sort out any issues promptly. Dealing with such professional people makes for a great, relaxing, stress free holiday, and I would 100% recommend booking with them.

Experiência negativa: I initially contacted Algarve Retreats inquiring in regard to an available property. After a few messages back and forth I was told multiple times the villa was available and I should book quickly. With the pressurising messages from the Manager Tracey to book I went ahead with the booking and the additional payment that they asked for outside of VRBO for an additional bed. After paying and confirming the booking I felt confident to go ahead and book flights only to be told 72 hours later that they now didn't have availability and they would cancel my booking. I received a refund for less than I paid along with no refund for the additional beds. I would encourage anyone looking to book a holiday in Portugal to consider other options and stay well away from Algarve Retreats! It is quite ironic that their tagline is people you can trust when the truth couldn't be further away. If I could give zero stars I would.

Algarve Treats are really shaking the tree here in Lagos operating in a market that looks like a cartel. Funny how their competitors all ask for the same fee. Feedback on visits to the property was always given. With COVID-19 affecting all things and myself locked in the UK Dexter went way beyond What I could reasonably have expected.

Experiência fantástica: My recent introduction to Algarve Retreats managers Adrian & Tracey Fox was indeed a surprising and pleasant experience. For the first time in our 7 or 8 years of retirement travels to escape Canadian winters, we decided to plan our first stay in the Algarve. Unlike some of our initial inquiries to vacation home managers or owners, where we couldn't get responses, Tracey immediately connected with us and set to work to sort out what accommodations situation would best suit our needs. Bingo! A perfect apartment, available for when we wanted to travel, and at a fair price. As it turned out, our medical travel insurance providers would not permit booking at this time, but as we are all experiencing, COVID changes everything. What looked like it would be so simple, had to be pushed back somewhat due to the pandemic. Suffice to say that we are confident that we will be able to pick right up where we left off when things get sorted out. Shazbot! We hope that we can find this gem of a vacation flat again with availability for our dates. We read from other comments that the Algarve Retreats team are bending over backwards during these challenging times on behalf of their clients. Good on ya' mates.

Experiência fantástica: After being stuck in lock down in the UK during the Covid 19 saga, the first thing we needed was a relaxing holiday abroad. From the offset, the Algarve Retreats Team couldn't be more helpful and professional. Adrian, Tracey and the team take pride in assuring only high satisfaction to their clientele. Nothing is too much to ask for and they are very easily accessible ready to take your call. They will do their utmost to positively resolve any issue at hand. A 5 star standard of hospitality was maintained throughout our unforgettable stay in Lagos, not to mention the stunning apartment we stayed in. Besides being brand new and residing in an immensely convenient location, the apartment's rooftop pool with breathtaking views only adds to the joyous experience. Experiência fantástica: We had ten fantastic days in Lagos and are grateful to Algarve Retreats for helping to make this happen. They were very supportive and reassuring throughout the booking process, with contingency plans in place if flights were to be cancelled at short notice. The apartment itself was perfect for our family of five, with my oldest daughter happy to use the futon in the living room and share one of the two bathrooms with her sisters. We’re not millionaires so did alternate nights of eating in and eating out. The little kitchen had everything we needed to make pasta dishes and fajitas, as well as having a big fridge freezer to keep everything in. The supermarket is right across the road and has a bakery, butchers, deli etc. At the time of writing, everyone is obliged to wear a mask in the supermarket. Outside the apartment is a nice sitting area, with shade offered by parasols or big trees. The pool is a good size and very nice for cooling off. If you are looking for a bit of exercise, it’s big enough to do a few laps, as I witnessed some people doing early in the morning from the comfort of my balcony! The main part of town is a pleasant twenty minute stroll through the marina away. If you haven’t been to Lagos before it is a beautiful place, especially for families. After a lot of Trip Advisor research we ate at the following places; Piccolo pizza Nah nah bah (burger place- book first) No patio (just mum and dad, too expensive and swanky for kids) Jukebox tapas (could not recommend highly enough) There is also a lovely place round the corner from the apartment where we went for a really nice breakfast. As you know, there’s a million beaches to choose from. The nearest is Praia Maia. If you’re super fit you could walk to it. We had a hire car so loaded that with towels, packed lunches etc to go there as well as a few other nice ones. Slide and Splash is now open and only half an hour away. My youngest daughter and I took advantage of the ‘get your second visit for €10’ offer and went twice (in my head I’m 15, not 50!). That day, my wife and other two girls went on one of the boat trips to the caves and totally loved it. Having had an absolute belly full of all the nonsense around Coronavirus, it was fantastic to get away and (almost- due to a bit of mask wearing) forget about it all for a week or so. I cannot thank Algarve Retreats enough for their professionalism and support and look forward to rewarding them with some future business when we next go to Portugal.

Experiência fantástica: Algarve Retreats have been the only people I will rent accommodation from in Lagos since about 2013. Tracey and Adrian are consummate professionals - Tracey, hugely responsive to any queries from booking to departure, and Adrian always there to welcome you to the accommodation when you arrive - greeting you like an old friend. Beyond this, what has made them really stand out for me this year, is how incredibly supportive and flexible they have been with all of the uncertainty facing my usual September holiday. Tracey has responded always with understanding, and whilst I have held out hope that this year might happen, on deciding that it probably won't Tracey has moved my booking to next year for no extra cost, no extra hassle and with complete professionalism and empathy, bearing in mind this is their livelihood... THANK YOU! I wouldn't book with anyone else, and I hope I can continue to do so for many more years to come!!!

Experiência fantástica: I have had the very good fortune to use the services of Algarve Estates since first coming across their business some 5 years ago. We are regular visitors to Lagos and have used many estate agents and booking websites over the years to rent accommodation but never experienced better service than that afforded by Tracey and Adrian at Algarve Estates. From the initial enquiry to your actual stay in one of their quality properties they cannot do enough for you. Not only are they very efficient business managers but they are also really nice people who care about their clients and their needs. In fact, over the years, they are more like friends than just a business relationship. Their staff are equally as efficient and sociable. During this awful Covid-19 crisis we've found ourselves in we've had to make considerable changes to our holiday plans this year. The totally sympathetic support, and effort to transfer our bookings and reschedule our holidays, even into 2021, has been first class and reduced a lot of anxiety at our end. Thank you so much for that, Tracey and Adrian, especially when the pressure on you and your business must have been untold. I would never look any further than Algarve Estates for my trips to Lagos. If considering buying property then your first step should be Algarve Estates as you can rest assured you would be in safe hands where your interests are paramount. Great service and great people just about sums it up perfectly.

Experiência fantástica: Great customer service experience. We had an apartment booked for June 2020 however, due to the Covid-19 outbreak our holiday has had to be postponed. Algarve retreats were very accommodating and understanding regarding this. We were able to move our booking including the deposit to a future date with no fees completely hassle free. This is the kind of service and understanding holiday makers need in these uncertain times. THANK YOU!
