Experiência fantástica: We received a first class service experience from the team at Spencer-Becks (Valerie and Iumie) We were leaving behind a truly beautiful house in the Baixa Alentejo and had an extensive list of requirements and questions for buying our next property. It was so refreshing to engage with an agency where they actually listened to what we were looking for and when they responded to our questions it was always done promptly, comprehensively and with integrity. This was a huge plus for us. If you have had any experience with the big agencies (you know who I mean) you already understand how frustrating it can be to get responses to simple but important questions. There were no pressure sales techniques or pushing of inappropriate properties by Spencer-Becks. They were totally professional throughout the whole buying process. The great news is that with their help we have found another (even more) beautiful house. Some other nice touches were SB helping us to find a local company to check out the operation of the air source heat pump, as well as expending lots of energy in smoothing the journey with the sellers to final completion. They took the time to understand our needs and preferences, and showed us properties that met our specific requirements. They were patient, professional, and always available to answer our questions. What really stood out to us was their exceptional communication skills. Despite the obvious language barriers of buying a home in a country in which you do not reside nor speak the language or know the laws, the team was able to effectively convey all the necessary information to us in a clear and concise manner. I also want to mention Valerie, the agency’s owner, and Lumie, the agency's assistant, who were instrumental in keeping everything running smoothly. Valerie’s extensive knowledge of the area and the process came in a handy when we had trouble receiving an international funds transfer. Valerie kept everyone calm and focused and eventually helped us to sort the issue out. Meanwhile, Lumie kept everything moving behind the scenes, ensuring that all the paperwork was completed promptly and efficiently. They were very reassuring considering we are buyers from another country as the the initial contact was a virtual viewing. The virtual viewing was very professional and they presented the property very well. All of our questions and concerns were answered and if they didn’t have the answer, they would get back to us as soon as possible with a response. They kept us informed every step of the way until the purchase and after the buying process, they are still on hand to give us helpful advice on settling in Portugal. Experiência fantástica: We met Valerie Spencer in September 2021 and we had a long discussion about our needs and wants for a house in the Nazare district. We then returned in March 2022 with the serious desire to buy a house. Valerie had Debra and Ray show us round several properties! They knew exactly what we had in mind thanks to Valerie and were able to come up with a new build with a good builder. We returned to our home in the US and received continuous updates and videos on the house. It is now complete and we will be viewing it this week. Spencer Becks has people who know the area and are good fun to be with!! I really recommend them and you will be in good hands, not just with the house but with all the knowledge and information that they help with!!

Experiência fantástica: I put my house on the market initially with 2 agents in Caldas da Rainha. The response from the agents was good with appointments kept on time and OK photos...then nothing, little or no feedback. I contacted Valerie who came out made a realistic evaluation and took photos superior to the other agents. She also described the house in a way that showed off the flexibility of the layout therefore appealing to all types of buyers. What I believe is the strength of Spencer Becks is that they listen and are excellent at matching prospective buyers with exactly the right property.....and always give an honest feedback to the seller following any viewing. So no time wasted for seller and buyer. I sold my house 2 months later at full asking price... Yes I would fully recommend Spencer Becks.

Experiência fantástica: We were initially looking at properties inland but came across the stunning property we have bought through the professional help of Val and her staff. We first came over to Portugal for a viewing and were looked after by Ron who was very professional and had a wealth of knowledge about the area which he gladly shown us on virtually a full day out!! topped off with lunch in the village we were moving to :) and an invite to the local bowling alley in the evening where we met lots of other people who had moved to the area. (Had a great night too!!) We returned again with our children for a second visit where we met Valerie, who spent time and had breakfast with us. Valerie also shared her knowledge and experiences she had come across whilst in Portugal. All of which were very encouraging for us to make the move. As we have children of school age it was a massive decision for us to move to this wonderful part of the world. We have also found Valerie to be totally supportive throughout the whole process. Our moving idea started in February 2020 and with all the covid situation, it is still active into August 2020. Val has been totally supportive throughout even if you have a 'daft' question, Val is there to give you an answer or she will know somebody who knows the answer. We couldn't of asked to meet a greater team of people to help us find the home we wanted. We totally encourage anybody who wants to find property to use Spencer Becks!!!

I can honestly say they have been wonderful, everything went exactly to plan and Jacqui McGrane was and continues to be fantastic. Even now after the purchase is complete I have a support network through the Spencer Becks team. Thank you for such a positive experience.

Experiência negativa: No one actually came to view my property in the Algarve. I supplied photos and needed to email to alter the description on the site. Asked to reduce the price and remove the description of patio doors in October. By end of January this still hadn't been done. Emailed asking for property to be taken off the site but no response. Finally contacted another membe of staff to ask for this to be done. No 0 feedback available unfortunately.

Experiência fantástica: I have to say that Spencer Becks have been absolutely fantastic, I had my property on with another site (mention no names] who I may add are suppose to be such a famous Group, they did nothing whatsoever did not pass emails on etc, then I changed and went with spencerbecks who have been so helpful, always there at the drop of a hat, always answered emails and phone calls straight away, even tho they are very busy they always had time to chat and help with problems even ones that were nothing to do with sales, so helpful the after care is brilliant too, would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell with them, thank you and the lovely staff for all your help,

Experiência negativa: This is a copy of the email I have just sent to Spencer Becks. I have had to give them a score of 1 simply because it isn't possible to score 0. The service is non existent but the fee would have been in excess of 20,000€. Completely unreliable. Is it any wonder estate agents have the reputation they have. "I messaged you 4 days ago and, sadly, no one in your business has had the courtesy to call me or leave a message. We placed the property with you earlier this year and at the time you made promises to get your colleague who deals with our area to call. No one came. You promised to arrange for a sign to be put up. We haven't had a sign. You promised that you would get a lawyer in Obidos to contact us. No one contacted us. In the 5 months since you agreed to sell our property you have not contacted us on any occasion to give an update or to make any recommendations.. You have failed at a very basic level to offer any sort of service. Can you please remove the property from your site with immediate effect".
