Experiência fantástica: Goldenlist and Luis Baptista In 2021 Astrid and I drove through the Pyrenees in our van, and there we decided to visit Portugal. The first campsite we visited, nicknamed "the roof of the world", made us fall in love with the country and its people on the spot. In the following years we visited almost every region of Portugal. A holiday without visiting this Southern European country just isn’t a holiday. We let go of our dream in 2024 to live in a big camper van. That lifestyle requires quite a bit of technical know-how. And while hanging out in a swimming pool at a campsite in Alentejo, my great love suggested that buying a house in Portugal could also be an option. Long story short: I’m writing this little story right now from the terrace of that house. At the end of 2024 we started our serious house hunt. Portugal isn’t exactly next door from the Netherlands, so the internet became my best friend. The well-known property websites had my full attention, and with specific search filters I looked at between twenty and forty houses almost every day. During our trip in 2025 we learned during in-person viewings that estate agents can take great photos… because once you arrive at the address it’s sometimes a bit of a shock. Just to be clear: most of the estate agents we met and spoke to were very kind people. It was a Dutch estate agent who made it crystal clear what kind of house we actually wanted. And with that house we also learned that a wait-and-see attitude doesn’t work — it was sold in no time. I had already seen a video from http://goldenlist.pt on YouTube before, and on the last Friday afternoon in February I came across the house that ticked every box, presented by Luis. His way of presenting had already caught my eye: people who are house-hunting in Portugal from another part of Europe don’t just hop in the car or on a plane for a viewing. His presentation is realistic and pays attention to detail. It’s not even a sales pitch, but a proper account of the facts so you immediately know what you’re looking at. Watching the video I also saw that it didn’t have many views yet. So this dream house became our dream house, and I decided to act on it right away. I sent a WhatsApp message and also an email. The weekend had started, so I had to be patient. I didn’t dare to check on Monday at first (what if the house was already sold), but when I opened WhatsApp I saw that Luis had replied. The steps to take were all listed clearly, one by one. We decided to call, and two hours later the house was ours. To all readers: The YouTube video immediately told me I was dealing with an honest estate agent. His first reply to my WhatsApp confirmed that, and during our first phone call I knew for sure: I’m buying a house from this man!!! The entire support from start to finish is spot on. If anything isn’t clear you can always call, email or WhatsApp Luis. Luis always replies! Once the house was ours we could also rely on his knowledge. I can wholeheartedly recommend Luis to anyone looking for a house in Portugal. He’s not only a knowledgeable guy who really knows what he’s talking about, he’s also a wonderful person to deal with — someone who approaches things with flair and a sense of humor! From the terrace of our house in Monforte da Beira, Astrid & Bert (by the end of this year we’ll be living here permanently)

Also as a foreign national buying in Portugal he was the only estate agent to point out that when we decide to move over we would need an urban article on the quinta to be able to apply for a visa, no other estate agent informed us of this fact, and all they wanted was to churn out properties and make a profit.
